Joan’s April Recommendation

A Company of Swans, by Eva Ibbotson

“A Company of Swans is about a nineteen-year-old aspiring ballerina, Harriet Morton, who runs away from her father and would-be fiance to join a ballet company headed for Brazil. There, she meets and falls in love with Rom Verney, a rich British exile who owns the opera house in which she dances. However, her fiance tracks her down, ready to take her away from ballet and Rom, and back to England. I found this book to be very well written and extremely interesting. It’s a great teen read that I couldn’t put down!”
