Ellen’s October Recommendation

When You Reach MeWhen You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

“A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle is one of my all time favorites, and it figures in Rebecca Stead’s new book,  When You Reach Me.  Although they are both considered “children’s books”, they are well
worth reading, together or separately. When You Reach Me is set in New York in 1979, where a young girl whose favorite book is A Wrinkle in Time, receives mysterious notes from an anonymous source that seems to defy the laws of time and space. It’s several stories woven together, well written, and very enjoyable – if you liked The Time Traveler’s Wife, consider this for yourself, another Wrinkle in Time lover, or a famly read-aloud.”
